About Croydon
Situated in the south of the capital, Croydon is one of the largest commercial districts outside of central London. Millions of pounds have been invested into development in Croydon, with the area of land next to East Croydon station being transformed into Boxpark Croydon; an interesting mix of units offering a wealth of different cuisines and drinks from all over the world. It’s one of the best places to be in Croydon and along with the independendent food retailers, it offers live music too. Famous for its malls, the town is the second largest place to shop in the South East, after central London. Whitgift and Centrale shopping centres, Croydon high street and Valley Park Retail outlet are all great for shopping, as well as Westfield. East Croydon station has excellent commuter links into the city and surrounding areas, with regular fast trains into Victoria, London Bridge, St Pancras, Brighton and Gatwick. Croydon is home to the only tram system in the capital, allowing residents and visitors to easily navigate the town, as well as reach public transport links. It also boasts excellent schools, including Whitgift, Trinity, Wallington Grammar, John Fisher, and Coloma.
Croydon is not short of nature, attractions, or leisure facilities, with various lovely walks to be enjoyed via its many parks and green open spaces.
