It’s the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat or a drink in one of the many historic pubs, as well as having its own working brewery situated in the heart of the town. If you love history and exploring, visit Anne of Cleves House or the ruins of Lewes Castle.
The historic seaside town of Shoreham-by-Sea, is best known for its fishing history. The town is made up of period cottages and houses, as well as new build developments along the river and harbour front. Bordered by the South Downs on its Northern border, the River Adur (which is tidal, with an active harbour and commercial port) and its estuary and beach on the other. The high street has a variety of individual shops, some bars and restaurants and an award winning monthly Farmers’ market. If you love the outdoors, you can do watersports at there Adur Leisure Centre or walk along the beach boardwalk, watching the waves crashing onto the beach.
The quaint village of Rottingdean lies to the East of Brighton, with its pebbly beaches, rock pools, cliff tops and sea views. The high street has five pubs, an array of independent shops, eateries and tea rooms. There are not only plenty of lovely under cliff walks you could take, there is also Beacon Hill and the iconic Rottingdean Windmill which leads to a beautiful nature reserve. Rottingdean is more famously known as being the home of Rudyard Kipling whose gardens are open to the public to enjoy, as well as some of the village’s architecture. “We had initially gone with an online estate agent who only got us 1 viewing in a month of being on the market. We achieved well over asking price within two weeks of being on the market. Super friendly, enthusiastic and worked so hard to get our house sold. Absolutely cannot fault them in any way and would 110% recommend to anyone looking to sell.”
