It’s not quite been the summer we had all expected, perhaps you are thinking of booing something to look forward to in the coming months? We’ve been chatting about fun, slightly more unusual activities in our local area and excited to share activities that have been tried by our team and a few we couldn’t resist sharing – which one will you choose?
Zorbing
How would you like to roll down hills in gigantic inflatable balls?! No but really, I’m not joking! Zorbing balls are huge polyurethane and nylon balls which are bigger than human size so you can fit inside with someone else and essentially roll downhill on special zorbing runs. It’s a ball of laughs (see what I did there!) mixed with a whole lot of adrenalin! There are two types of rides you can choose between, harness zorbing and aqua zorbing. Harness zorbing is the original experience out of the two, you get harnessed inside with someone else opposite you, you are then pushed down the runs! Be prepared to laugh, scream, and go fast!!
Aqua zorbing also involves two people on a freestyle water ride where you slip and slide your way down a run in 40 litres of water. If this sounds like something you’d like to try, GoZorbing is situated in the beautiful woodlands of Whyteleafe, Surrey. It’s located just off the M25, so it is easy to find and has free parking. Make sure you do book in advance!
The SHAC
Surrey Hills Adventure Company has five locations across The Surrey Hills offering five different outdoor activities to choose from. Open water swimming which is great exercise if you are already into your swimming or they also run groups for anyone that is out of practice. If you’re into yoga and love being out in nature, then you might want to try your hand at SUP Yoga. The yoga courses take your favourite classes and put them on the open water surrounded by stunning backdrops. Both activities individually and together are great for balance, core strength, coordination, and body strength. This lovely activity takes place at the lagoon in Buckland Park.
If yoga on a paddle board isn’t quite for you, there is also normal stand-up paddle boarding available, with a choice of the lagoon, Dapdune Wharf in the Heart of Guildford or on The River Wey.
I bet you’ve never heard of efoiling?! It is basically a surfboard with a motor attached that flies above a hydrofoil wing across the water! Lastly, and with your young ones in mind, there are fun woodland adventures including, forest school which involves den building, mud kitchens, rope swinging, exploring, games, arts, and crafts and much more!
