Whether you’re looking for a mid week feed or a lunch spot for the weekend, our teams have selected their favourite choices to share with you!
The Grumpy Mole, Brockham
Nici loves visiting The Grumpy Mole with her family for its cosy setting, amazing food and beautiful local walks, which is just the ethos behind this small chain of lovely pubs.
Whether you visit for a quick sandwich in the bar, a traditional afternoon tea on linen-clad tables, or an exquisite candle-lit three course dinner, the attention to detail is the same.
The Lockhart Tavern, Haywards Heath
Mathew hardly ever ventures out for a roast as his wife is an amazing cook however, if they did, he would head to The Lockhart with his family and enjoy a pint of their ‘good beer’!
They serve delicious food, all made on site from fresh ingredients with a seasonally changing menu, all complimented by what they would say is the best drinks range in the county, with specially selected beers from both local Sussex and UK-based brewers, a wine list that would make a sommelier weep with joy and a range of spirits to satisfy any cocktail fan.
The Three Crowns, Ashurst Wood
Dan would highly recommend The Three Crowns! It was recently refurbished and is under new management within a quiet village with beautiful gardens. Surrounded by plenty of walks and serves gorgeous food. He was pretty much raised in that pub as his parents and grandparents were regulars so he has lots of memories there!
Since opening its doors again, their kitchen is now run by chef Jon Donaghue and his team. Their new Dining Room Menu from Wednesday to Saturday, and their hugely popular Roast Dinners every Sunday from noon ’til 7pm are a huge hit!
The Haycutter, Oxted
Lydia loves visiting The Haycutter! It’s a warm, vibrant local pub with an open fire. The perfect spot to take the family both in the warm and colder months. The food is great and the staff are lovely!
Situated in the beautiful surroundings of Broadham Green, nestling between Oxted, Hurst Green and Tandridge in Surrey. The pub dates back to 1851 and is believed to be the only pub in the country to be called the Haycutter. A huge bar greets you on entering from the terrace area and a light bright garden room overlooks the lawns beyond. In the historic part of the pub you will find little areas to hide yourself away and relax in, in front of roaring fires on nippy days.
The Grumpy Mole, Tadworth
This seems like a popular choice of pub as Abigail also highly recommends The Grumpy Mole, but in Tadworth! She loves the beautiful location in which is it set and enjoys the various lovely walks over the heath with friends.
We would love to hear some of your pub recommendations!
